Stemonitis genus

This is a catch-all for unidentified slime molds in the Stemonitis genus which can be very difficult to separate without microscopic analysis. They are characterised by the tall brown sporangia, supported on slender stalks, which grow in clusters on rotting wood. A 2014 estimate suggests that there are 18 species in the genus.
