A cultivated hybrid from the Viola tricolor species, the pansy is a common garden flower. The pansy flower is 2 to 3 inches in diameter and has two slightly overlapping upper petals, two side petals, and a single bottom petal with a slight beard emanating from the flower's center. The flower has been produced in a wide range of colors and bicolors. The plant may grow to 9 inches in height.
Most commonly found in gardens, flower beds, landscaping, or occasionally escaped from it's normal habitat.
