Sub-category: Xeruloid

Xeruloid mushrooms comprise a sub-set of the collybioid mushrooms, and can be recognized by their tall and slender stature, their white spore prints and their tough, rooting stems, which taper underground. Since most of these mushrooms require microscopic analysis for a positive ID, this is a catch-all for all Xeruloid mushrooms including those in the following genera: Xerula, Hymenopellis, Paraxerula, Collybia, and Oudemansiella.
